Ukraine Takes Actions against Imports: New Trade Investigations Started and Measures Extended

Following the decisions of the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade (the ICIT), on 1 September 2021 Ukraine announced three new trade investigations:

  • anti-dumping investigation against imports of seamless cold-deformed pipes which correspond to customs codes 7304 31 and 7304 51 origin from the PRC,
  • anti-dumping investigation against imports of aluminum ladders which correspond to customs code 7616 99 90 00 origin from the PRC, Slovakia, Poland and Belarus, and
  • safeguard investigation against imports of PVC profiles which correspond to customs codes 3916 20 00 and 3925 90 80 00, regardless of country of origin and export.

The investigations are expected to be concluded within one year (anti-dumping) and next nine months (safeguard), unless extended by the investigation authority. The deadline for registration as interested parties in all cases is October 1, 2021.

The ICIT also completed the expiry reviews and voted to extend anti-dumping 25.73% duty on imports of electric filament lamps from Kyrgyzstan for another five years, and safeguard quantitative quotas on imports of sulfuric acid and oleum for another three years.
