Robinson Patman participated in the meeting of the export and investment Committee of the Kyiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry that took place on December 9, 2021. The meeting gathered officials from the Ministry of Economy, experts and representatives of the business to discuss the so-called industrial visa-free regime with the EU. The discussion centered on benefits, current status and issues of setting up an industrial visa-free regime.
The industrial visa-free regime is provided by the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA), that is planned to be singed withing the framework of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. Conclusion of the ACAA is an important step for the Ukraine-EU relations as it simplifies trade between the EU Member States and Ukraine. Under an industrial visa-free regime, the certificates of conformity issued by the Ukrainian authorized institutions will be recognized by the EU. That means the export of the Ukrainian products to the EU would be possible with the Ukrainian certificates.
Ukraine is now going through the second phase of the preliminary stage of the concluding the ACCA. This stage provides for the assessment of the readiness of Ukraine's quality infrastructure institutions to operate under the updated Ukrainian legislation harmonized with the EU one. The next step is the Assessment Mission which precedes the conclusion of the ACAA.
